At Calvin's campus, there are those who consume content, and those who create it. Our goal is to equip the student body with the resources and know-how required to play an active role in the evolving dialogue of our community. We provide you with a way to speak to the campus - but what you say is up to you.
Come down to our studio in the basement of the Commons Annex Lecture Hall during one of our regular Monday night meetings around 9:15 to find out more about how you can get involved. We'd love to have you on board.

Did you see the link to our programming
schedule at the top? Not only can you browse through a web-based calendar of what'll be broadcast on CVN this week, if you have a calendar program which supports .ics files (such as
Sunbird or
iCal) you can
subscribe to or
download the show schedule for viewing with your desktop calendar program.
So how would I start my own show?
Got an idea for a show? Great! Here's how to get started:
- Get some people together and come up with some content. We've got cameras and other equipment for you to use, you'll provide the inspiration. The more people you get involved, the merrier. If people say they don't want to be seen on TV, tell them they can help out by running cameras or switcher or something (a CVN member will be on hand to help out).
- Pick a time during the week that you can consistently broadcast on.
- Show up at a CVN meeting (Mondays at 9:15, Commons Annex basement) and start talking to people who look like they're in charge. Be sure to ask how to add your show to the schedule on the website.
- Sign up for an account on the website, and
post a blurb about your show. If people want more info about your show, this'll be the first place they look.
- Promote your show - use posters, Student-News, pathway chalking, whatever. People will watch if they know there'll be something on.
- Show up a half hour before your slot, and then broadcast! It's fun.
